Summer Music Fundays was a great success. The Song of Summer is a magical confirmation of the strength of thought and will and creative energy.  I'm working on the final mix now. But I must make some hard decisions, because we recorded over 80 minutes of music!

Our first West African Drum class was a great success. Click here for a short video from lesson number 01.

We had a small group, but we blasted our Fanfare for the Tour of California with style!

5/22/2010

We had an amazing private party for some adults. Listen to this harp excerpt, and then this amazing tenor sax excerpt!

5/19/2010

This was our deepest adult jam yet. Didgeridoos, dumbeks, throat singing, dancing. We unveiled the new hi-def visualizer, too!

5/10/2010

I took a class with master drummer Malik Sow in a printing warehouse in Ventura. That's too far for me to drive, so I asked him to come and teach a class here at the studio. Now we just need some students!

West African Drumming w/ Malik Sow: Learn the intricate rhythms and songs of West Africa with master drummer Malik Sow. Classes will be Thursday nights from 7:30-9:00 once we sign up enough students. $25.00 per class. Contact us if your interested. Beginners Welcome. No drum--no problem.

5/8/2010

It was Moniques's 9th birthday, and the unveiling of the "Funky Face Song." What fun!

5/6/2010

The "Meteor Jam" was adults only. Another transcendent evening.

4/25/210

We had a wonderful concert over at the Westminster Presbyterian Church with Tomiko Taylor and some of her students from the  Conejo Valley Youth Orchestra. It was quite an experience. Somehow we cajoled the adience into creating an evolving polyrhythm with kalimbas, clickers, tongue drums, and the khamak. Then Tomiko soloed on her Koto. It was beautiful.

2/9/10

The big news today is that our WATER PHONE arrived!

It's amazing! We had a little jam and below are three excerpts. Instruments used: water phone, string drum (sounds like a wah-wah pedal but it's not), steel tongue drum, suspended cymbal, wind chimes, triangle, khamak, soprano gopichand, santoor, bass drum, double bass, small and large gongs, 12 note wooden tongue drum, singing bowl gong, kalimba, bamboo flute, and some weird singing.

What fun!
